UK based Ghanaian actress Safia Haroun popularly known as Safina is set to donate her kidney to Mampong children’s home, a move she feels is in the right direction. In an interview she said considering her love for children and human kind as a whole she feels donating her kidney will help save a life. Asked why not donate to hospitals to help patients with kidney problems she said hospitals usually sell the kidneys to the patients and she is not ready to make money with what was freely given to her.
She is currently championing a kidney disease awareness and early detection campaign. She said all who are interested in her campaign can sponsor her campaign or simply help spread the word by telling a friend about the early signs and detection and prevention.
